Or are they saying that he has been overcome by madness? No, it is definitely not so; he has indeed come to them with the truth, but they chose not to accept it because most of them are aversive of the truth. They want God’s commandments to approve their evil desires.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)

23:71

If the truth (i.e., God’s message) had followed their desires, the heavens and the earth (with all its inhabitants) would face chaos. 23:72

Or is the reason for their turning away that you ask them for recompensation for your message? No, this cannot be true because the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)

23:73

You surely invite them to the right path;S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)

however, those who do not believe in the hereafter are surely deviating from the right path.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)

23:75

The idolaters of Mecca also believed that angels and other spiritual beings were God’s real children. Allāh has never taken unto Himself a child, and never was there with Him any god—otherwise, each god would certainly take away with himself what he created, and then competition would start between them, and some of them would certainly overpower the others.
