Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth sing the praise of Allāh even though we, humans with limited capacity, cannot perceive it. Why does everythingsing His praise? To Him belongs the Kingdom and to Him belongs the praise, and He has power over everything.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
Whatever there is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah. To Him belongs all sovereignty and to Him belongs all praise, and He has power over all things.Ali Quli Qarai
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allāh. To Him belongs dominion, and to Him belongs [all] praise, and He is over all things competent.Saheeh International

He is the One who created you with freewill, and so some among you are unbelievers and some among you are believers. He has givenfree will to test you, and Allāh sees what you are doing and will judge you accordingly.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
It is He who created you. Then some of you are faithless and some of you are faithful, and Allah watches what you do.Ali Quli Qarai
It is He who created you, and among you is the disbeliever, and among you is the believer. And Allāh, of what you do, is Seeing.Saheeh International
He has created the heavens and the earth with the truth, i.e., with a purpose, and He has fashioned you and indeed He excelled in your fashioning, and to Him is the eventual destinationS. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
He created the heavens and the earth with consummate wisdom, and He formed you and perfected your forms, and toward Him is your destination.Ali Quli Qarai
He created the heavens and earth in truth and formed you and perfected your forms; and to Him is the [final] destination.Saheeh International

when He will judge you as He knows whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and He knows what you conceal and what you display—Allāh is well aware of what is in the hearts.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
He knows whatever there is in the heavens and the earth, and He knows whatever you hide and whatever you disclose, and Allah knows best what is in your breasts.Ali Quli Qarai
He knows what is within the heavens and earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare. And Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts.Saheeh International
Has not the news of those who disbelieved in the past come to you? They tasted the evil consequence of their action in this world, and they shall have a painful chastisement in the hereafter.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
Has there not come to you the account of those who were faithless before? They tasted the evil consequence of their conduct, and there is a painful punishment for them.Ali Quli Qarai
Has there not come to you the news of those who disbelieved before? So they tasted the bad consequence of their affair, and they will have a painful punishment.Saheeh International
Reflect on why they disbelieved. That was because their messengers would come to them with clear signs, but they would say, “Will a human being guide us?!” So they disbelieved and turned away from Allāh’s message—but Allāh does not need them; Allāh is Free from need, Praiseworthy.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
That was because their apostles would bring them manifest proofs, but they said, ‘Will humans be our guides?!’ So they disbelieved and turned away, and Allah had no need [of their faith] and Allah is all-sufficient, all-laudable.Ali Quli Qarai
That is because their messengers used to come to them with clear evidences, but they said, "Shall human beings guide us?" and disbelieved and turned away. And Allāh dispensed [with them]; and Allāh is Free of need and Praiseworthy.Saheeh International
The second reason for their disbelief: Those who disbelieved thought that they would never be resurrected for judgement. Say: “Indeed, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected, and then you will surely be informed of what you had done—that is indeed easy for Allāh!”S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
The faithless claim that they will not be resurrected. Say, ‘Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did, and that is easy for Allah.’Ali Quli Qarai
Those who disbelieve have claimed that they will never be resurrected. Say, "Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did. And that, for Allāh, is easy."Saheeh International
So believe in Allāh, His Messenger and the Light that We have sent down. Allāh is well aware of what you are doingS. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
So have faith in Allah and His Apostle and the light, which We have sent down, and Allah is well aware of what you do.Ali Quli Qarai
So believe in Allāh and His Messenger and the light [i.e., the Qur’ān] which We have sent down. And Allāh is Aware of what you do.Saheeh International
In the Shī‘a ḥadīth literature, on the esoteric level, ‘the light’ is also applied for the Imām. And there is no contradiction between the esoteric and exoteric levels of interpretation because the Qur’ān is the word of Allāh and the Imām is the embodiment of the teachings of the Qur’ān.
and will judge you accordingly on the day He shall gather you for the Day of Gathering—that is the day of loss for some and gain for some others: So whosoever believes in Allāh and does good deeds, his misdeeds will be forgiven, and he will be admitted into gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein forever—that is indeed the great achievement.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
When He will you bring you together for the Day of Gathering, it will be a day of privation [and regret]. As for those who have faith in Allah and act righteously, He shall absolve them of their misdeeds and admit them into gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them forever. That is the great success.Ali Quli Qarai
The Day He will assemble you for the Day of Assembly - that is the Day of Deprivation. And whoever believes in Allāh and does righteousness - He will remove from him his misdeeds and admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.Saheeh International
As for those who disbelieve and reject Our signs—they are the inmates of the Fire, they shall abide in it, and that is an evil destination.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
But as for those who are faithless and deny Our signs, they will be the inmates of the Fire, to remain in it [forever], and it is an evil destination.Ali Quli Qarai
But the ones who disbelieved and denied Our verses - those are the companions of the Fire, abiding eternally therein; and wretched is the destination.Saheeh International
Ma asaba min museebatinilla bi-ithni Allahi waman yu/min billahiyahdi qalbahu wallahu bikulli shay-in AAaleem
Remember that no affliction befalls you but by Allāh’s creative will that prevails all over the universe.Of course, whoever believes in Allāh, He guides his heart to the qualities that would help him facethe afflictions. And Allāh has knowledge of all things.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
No affliction visits [anyone] except by Allah’s leave. Whoever has faith in Allah, He guides his heart, and Allah has knowledge of all things.Ali Quli Qarai
No disaster strikes except by permission of Allāh. And whoever believes in Allāh - He will guide his heart. And Allāh is Knowing of all things.Saheeh International
Attaining “the great achievement” and averting “the evil destination” requires constant struggle: doing the right, refraining from the wrong, and being steadfast in challenges that come in that path.

So obey Allāh and obey the Messenger, but if you turn your backs to their commandments, then know that the duty of Our Messenger is only to deliver a clear message.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
Obey Allah and obey the Apostle; but if you turn away, then Our Apostle’s duty is only to communicate in clear terms.Ali Quli Qarai
And obey Allāh and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away - then upon Our Messenger is only [the duty of] clear notification.Saheeh International
Allahu la ilaha illahuwa waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almu/minoon
You should obey Allāh and His Messenger because Allāh is theOne besides Whom there is no god, and so in Allāh should the believers put their trust.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
Allah—there is no god except Him—in Allah let all the faithful put their trust.Ali Quli Qarai
Allāh - there is no deity except Him. And upon Allāh let the believers rely.Saheeh International

O you who believe! Verily some among your wives and children are enemies of yours (when they discourage you from doing good or tempt you to do evil or weaken yourfaith), therefore, beware of them. Of course, ifthey regret and amend their attitude, then if you pardon, overlook and forgive them, then surely Allāh is the Forgiving, the Merciful.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
O you who have faith! Indeed, you have enemies among your spouses and children; so beware of them. Yet if you excuse, forbear, and forgive, then Allah is indeed all-forgiving, all-merciful.Ali Quli Qarai
O you who have believed, indeed, among your spouses and your children are enemies to you, so beware of them. But if you pardon and overlook and forgive - then indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.Saheeh International
Sometimes the challenges come from those who are near and dear to you.
Remember that verily your wealth and your children are a means of trial for you; and ifyou conduct yourselves rightly, then with Allāh is a great reward for you.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
Rather, your possessions, and children are a test, and Allah—with Him is a great reward!Ali Quli Qarai
Your wealth and your children are but a trial, and Allāh has with Him a great reward.Saheeh International
Therefore, fear displeasing Allāh as much as you possibly can: listen to Allāh and His Messenger with your heart and obey them.As an example of your obedience, give in charity; that is better for yourselves. And whosoever is protected from their own greed, they are the successful ones.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
So be wary of Allah, as much as you can, and listen and obey, and spend [in the way of Allah]; that is better for yourselves. Those who are saved from their own greed—it is they who are the felicitous.Ali Quli Qarai
So fear Allāh as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allāh]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.Saheeh International
