Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth glorify and praise Allāh in theirown way. They praise the God who is the King, the Most Holy, the Mighty, and the Wise.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
Whatever there is in the heavens and in the earth glorifies Allah, the Sovereign, the All-holy, the All-mighty, the All-wise.Ali Quli Qarai
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allāh, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.Saheeh International

He is the One who raised among the people of Mecca a Messenger from among themselves. The role of the Prophet consists of three things: • he recites to them His (Allāh’s) verses revealed to him; • he purifies them spiritually; • and teaches them the Book (i.e., the Qur’ān) and wisdom (i.e., his teachings). While the people of Mecca before Muḥammad were indeed in clear error.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
It is He who sent to the unlettered [people] an apostle from among themselves, to recite to them His signs, to purify them, and to teach them the Book and wisdom, and earlier they had indeed been in manifest error.Ali Quli Qarai
It is He who has sent among the unlettered [Arabs] a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] and wisdom [i.e., the sunnah] - although they were before in clear error -Saheeh International
Raising the Prophet Muḥammad among such people is a sign of Allāh’s power and grace.
This was the fulfillment of Prophet Ibrāhim’s prayer as mentioned in 2:129.
And there are others —unborn or uninformed— from among them who have not yet joined them. And He, God, is the Mighty, the Wise.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
And to others from among them [as well] who have not yet joined them. And He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.Ali Quli Qarai
And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.Saheeh International
The parable of the Israelites who were charged with the Tawrāt but they did not observe it is like the parable of the ass that carries books on its backbut can’t read or use them! Evil is the parable of the people who rejected the verses revealed by Allāh in the Torah, and surely Allāh does not guide the unjust people.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
The example of those who were charged with the Torah, then failed to carry it, is that of an ass carrying books. Evil is the example of the people who deny Allah’s signs, and Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.Ali Quli Qarai
The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allāh. And Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people.Saheeh International
Then Allāh gives the example of a past nation that did not follow the Divine guidance:
Qul ya ayyuha allatheenahadoo in zaAAamtum annakum awliyao lillahimin dooni annasi fatamannawoo almawta in kuntum sadiqeen
O Muḥammad, say: “O you the Jews! If you claim that you are the friends of Allāh with the exclusion of other people, then invoke death upon yourselves if you are truthful.” (A friend of Allāh longs to meet the Lord and is sure of his place in Paradise; death is the only barrier between him and Paradise.)S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
Say, ‘O Jews! If you claim that you are Allah’s favourites, to the exclusion of other people, then long for death, should you be truthful.’Ali Quli Qarai
Say, "O you who are Jews, if you claim that you are allies of Allāh, excluding the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful."Saheeh International
But, O Muḥammad, be sure that they will never invoke it upon themselves because of thesins that their hands have sent ahead. They are not true friends of God because they have amassedsins. Allāh is well aware of sinful people.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
Yet they will never long for it, because of what their hands have sent ahead, and Allah knows best the wrongdoers.Ali Quli Qarai
But they will not wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allāh is Knowing of the wrongdoers.Saheeh International
Say to them: “Verily, the death from which you are fleeing, that will surely meet you, and then you will be resurrected and sent back to Allāh, the Knower of the unseen and the seen, who shall then inform you of what you were doing in this world.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
Say, ‘The death that you flee will indeed encounter you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the sensible and the Unseen, and He will inform you about what you used to do.’Ali Quli Qarai
Say, "Indeed, the death from which you flee - indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you about what you used to do."Saheeh International

O you who believe! When the call is made for the prayer on the day of Friday, then hasten to the remembrance of Allāh and leave off trading and all other activities—that is better for you if you know the importance of this commandment.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
O you who have faith! When the call is made for prayer on Friday, hurry toward the remembrance of Allah, and leave all business. That is better for you, should you know.Ali Quli Qarai
O you who have believed, when [the adhān] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumuʿah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allāh and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.Saheeh International
Now Almighty Allāh turns to the Muslims and orders them to follow the guidance and not be like the nations that did not observe Allāh’s commandments.
Fa-itha qudiyati assalatufantashiroo fee al-ardi wabtaghoo min fadliAllahi wathkuroo Allaha katheeranlaAAallakum tuflihoon
Of course, when the Friday prayer has ended, then you may spread out in the vast earth and and seek from Allāh’s grace. But even in pursuit ofworldly affairs, remember Allāh often so that you may hopefully prosper.S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
And when the prayer is finished disperse through the land and seek Allah’s grace, and remember Allah much so that you may be felicitous.Ali Quli Qarai
And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allāh, and remember Allāh often that you may succeed.Saheeh International

And when they saw a trade caravan or entertainment thatentailed it, they converged onto it and left you, O Muḥammad, standing on your pulpit! (Only 12 people were left in the mosque with the Prophet.)Say to them, “Whatever is with Allāh is better than the entertainment and the trade. Indeed Allāh is the Best of sustainers.”S. M. Rizvi (Explanatory)
When they sight a deal or a diversion, they scatter off towards it and leave you standing! Say, ‘What is with Allah is better than diversion and dealing, and Allah is the best of providers.’Ali Quli Qarai
But [on one occasion] when they saw a transaction or a diversion, [O Muḥammad], they rushed to it and left you standing. Say, "What is with Allāh is better than diversion and than a transaction, and Allāh is the best of providers."Saheeh International
Then Allāh gives the example of some Muslims who had messed up their priorities. A trade caravan from Syria had entered the city of Medina right when the Prophet was delivering his Friday sermon. As usual, the caravan announced its arrival with drums and trumpets.
